Mixture of SVMs for Face Class Modeling

چکیده
We 1 present a method for face detection which uses a new SVM structure trained in an expert manner in the eigenface space. This robust method has been introduced as a post processing step in a realtime face detection system. The principle is to train several parallel SVMs on subsets of some initial training set and then train a second layer SVM on the margins of the first layer of SVMs. This approach presents a number of advantages over the classical SVM: firstly the training time is considerably reduced and secondly the classification performance is improved, we will present some comparisions with the single SVM approach for the case of human face class modeling.

متن کاملMulti-View Face Recognition with Min-Max Modular Support Vector Machines
As a result of statistical learning theory, support vector machines (SVMs)[23] are effective classifiers for the classification problems. SVMs have been successfully applied to various pattern classification problems, such as handwritten digit recognition, text categorization and face detection, due to their powerful learning ability and good generalization ability. However, SVMs require to sol...
متن کاملA Modified Method for Face Recognition Using SVM
Support vector machine is a new technique of machine learning developed from the middle of 1990s. There are two important things in the process of face recognition using SVM. One is the feature vectors extracted from face images, the other is the classifier we choose. Our approach optimizes traditional method from these two points. The adaptively weighted Fisherface purposes on a better feature...
متن کاملSupport Vector Machines as Acoustic Models in Speech Recognition
Speech recognition is usually based on Hidden Markov Models (HMMs), which represent the temporal dynamics of speech very efficiently, and Gaussian mixture models, which do non-optimally the classification (acoustic modeling) of speech into single speech units (phonemes). In this paper we present an overview about the use of Support Vector Machines (SVMs) for the classification task by integrati...
متن کاملICA and Gabor representation for facial expression recognition
Two hybrid systems for classifying seven categories of human facial expression are proposed. The £rst system combines independent component analysis (ICA) and support vector machines (SVMs). The original face image database is decomposed into linear combinations of several basis images, where the corresponding coef£cients of these combinations are fed up into SVMs instead of an original feature...
